Art house cinemas are different from most cinemas, the range of films they show supposedly caters to less mainstream tastes than most cinemas and there is an emphasis on independent, cult and foreign language films. Most of their promotional material is specific to individual cinemas rather than the network as a whole, however they also show mainstream Hollywood films that they consider interesting. My Brother the devil and Skyfall are both shown at hackney picture house, even though Skyfall has a huge audience and is shown at all most every mainstream cinema. My brother the devil has a much lower audience than skyfall and is not showing in mainstream cinemas, it also had no out of house advertising, where as skyfall has plenty.

Both Skyfall and My Brother the Devil were advertised on social networking sites such as; Youtube, Twitter and Facebook. They both have trailers that advertise the film, but unlike Skyfall, My Brother the Devil had no other advertising as it had a lower budget than Skyfall. Skyfal was advertised on photo billboards on the sides of busses, there were posters, and loads of merchandise such as; cups, t-shirts, nail vanish and many more. Skyfall was also advertised through the synergy of Adeles song, that she wrote and sang specifically for the film.

What did you find out bout the producers/production company behind this film?

Skyfall is the twenty-third spy fil in the James Bond series, produced by Eon Productions and distributed by MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment. It features Daniel Craig’s third performance as James Bond, and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the film's villain. The film was directed by Sam Mendes and written by John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
In the film Bond investigates an attack on MI6; it transpires that it is part of an attack on M by former MI6 operative, Raoul Silva. The film sees the return of two recurring characters after an absence of two films: Q, played by Ben Whishaw, and Miss Money penny, played by Naomie Harris. Skyfall was the last film of the series for Judi Dench who played M; a role, which she played in the previous six films. The position is subsequently filled by Ralph Fiennes' character, Gareth Mallory.
Mendes was approached to direct the film after the release of Quantum of Solace in 2008. Production was suspended when MGM encountered financial troubles, and did not resume until December 2010; during this time, Mendes remained attached to the project as a consultant. The original screenwriter, Peter Morgan, left the project during the suspension. When production resumed, Logan, Purvis and Wade continued writing what became the final version of the script, whilst incorporating Morgan's ideas. Filming began in November 2011, and primarily took place in the United Kingdom, China and Turkey.
Skyfall premiered on 23 October 2012, and was released in the United Kingdom on 26 October 2012. It was the first James Bond film to be screened in Imax venues, although it was not filmed with Imax cameras. The film's release coincided with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond series, which began with Dr. No in 1962.

Adele has a single out at the moment-how is this being used to promote Skyfall?

In October 2012, British singer-songwriter Adele confirmed that she had written and recorded the film's theme song with her regular songwriter, Paul Epworth. She later posted the cover for the "Skyfall" sheet music on Twitter, crediting the song writing to herself and Epworth, with arrangements to both Epworth and orchestrator J. A. C. Redford. The song was released online at 0:07am BST on 5 October 2012.
The song went to number one at the UK's iTunes online store less than ten hours after it was released, surpassing "Diamonds" by Rihanna in that country, and Taylor Swift's "Red" in the US. At 6 a.m. on 5 October, Clear Channel began airing "Skyfall" on 180 radio stations around the United States at the top of every hour. Within 24 hours, "Skyfall" had garnered 10 million audience impressions and had already begun to rank within the Top 50 of the Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems-based Radio Songs chart.
On 7 October, "Skyfall" entered the UK Singles Chart at number 4 after less than 48 hours on sale. The single sold 84,000 copies in the UK during its first two days of release. On 14 October, "Skyfall" rose to number 2 on the UK Singles Chart with sales of 92,000 copies. Though "Skyfall" debuted at number 8, it was actually the third best-selling single in the US that week – the Hot 100 ranks songs based on sales, radio airplay, and online streaming. "Skyfall" is the first James Bond theme to chart within the Top 10 in the US in a decade, and is the first James Bond theme to debut in the Top 10. In my opinion and from the research I have completed, the target audience is everyone, but males mostly. In the wider aspect, Skyfall had its premiere in this country – and its release date in the UK/Europe was nearly two weeks before USA.
